Jesus fed thousands of people with a few loaves and fishes. The twelve basketfuls of food collected by the people overflowed with a superabundance of good that sustained all.
Our lives also receive God’s outpourings of love, amassing goodness as in an overflowing basket. The poems in this volume were composed in gratitude for God’s love, gathering the seeds of His life into truths about the power of spiritual creation within the lifespan of the person, brought together into a basket of power and thanksgiving.

BYRON SMITH graduated from Milton Hershey School, Pennsyvania, in 1946. His career years were spent in printing and publishing business in Lancaster County. The church has been a major part of his life.
When retired he volunteered with Hospice, Literary Council, and shared and taught poetry in school and seminars.
He and his wife Rhoda presently reside at Brethren Village Retirement Community in Lancaster Country, Pennsylvania. They have three children, five grandsons, and three great grandchildren.

Poetry isn't everyone's first choice. However, octogenarian Byron Smith makes poetry accessible to most of us.
He writes about everyday experiences from his life in Pennsylvania in a manner reminiscent of Robert Frost.
Really enjoyed this book. Byron Smith has a wonderful style and I agree with the other reviewer who said it was in the vein of Robert Frost.
Excellent collection of the poetical moments of one man's life. I recommend this collection to anyone who cares about life.
